2. Entries must be handcrafted by the artist. Kits, molded inserts, marquetry and puzzles are not allowed. If questionable, interpretation will be made by the show chair.

4. Materials used for habitat should be made of wood when possible. Other materials may be used, however, they must be hand-formed. Manufactured items such as plastic flowers, plants, etc., are not acceptable. Real rocks or shells are not allowed. Real sand, drift wood and cast or handmade rocks are allowed.

5. Each entry must bear the permanent signature of the artist. This mark shall be completely covered during judging. Entries are submitted at the sole discretion and risk of the artist. TCW, its’ officials, show chair and members are not responsible for damage or loss from any cause.

6. The show chair reserves the right to refuse any entry that is perceived as not in good taste. Mailed or shipped entries will not be accepted.

7. The artist is responsible for the correct assignment of the carving to the correct category and class (level of expertise). The judges may disagree with the artist. They will notify the show competition chairman of the dispute, and the chair’s decision will be final.

8. Carvings entered in the previous annual TCW show may be entered, provided they did not win a blue ribbon. All entries must have been completed within the last 18 months.

9. Natural-finished items shall have only one transparent stain, if desired. All parts of such items must be made of wood, including the eyes. Wood burning is permissible.

EXHIBITOR LEVELS
Novice/ Beginner: One who has never won a Best in Show in Novice level at any competition and has never competed at a higher level. Competitors who have won three blue ribbons at this level must move to the Intermediate level.
Intermediate: One who has won a Best in Show in Novice level at any competition but has never won an Intermediate level Best in Show at any competition and has never competed at a higher level. Once a competitor wins either a Best in Show or three blue ribbons at the Intermediate level, he/she must move permanently to the Open Level.
Open/ Professional: No restrictions.
EXHIBIT CATEGORIES: Carvings that qualify for a given category must be entered in that category. No carvings over 48” will be allowed in the competition. If, in the judge’s opinion, there is an insufficient quantity or quality of entries to judge in a given category, the carvings will be moved by the judge, with the approval of the Competition Chairman, into an appropriate category. The artist will be notified by the Show Committee. All entries must be entered in one of the following competition categories:
