Beginning Wood Carving lectures
These talks will address 9 topics related to wood carving. The talks will be 20-30 minutes long and will be given during the Tuesday meetings. The classes are free for all members.

Subject: Fish and Stingray Miniature
Instructor: Bruce Edwards
Cost: $45.00 plus materials
This class is for beginners and intermediate carvers and is limited to 8 students.
Tools required: dremel or rotor power carver along with basic knives and gouges.
The stingray is made from mahogany and the fish wall hanging is made from maple and mahogany. The starfish is made from basswood. Bruce has a bench grinder available for roughing out. Bruce has made the bases using a dremel router. The wall hanging fish was cut using a bandsaw. He will demonstrate this showing how everything fits together. He is doing this to show the process from beginning to end. Students won't be doing this in class due to the time required.

Class will be limited to 10 Students of any carving abilities. Knives and gouges will be needed. Paints and finishing products will be furnished. Bring your favorite paint brushes if you want.
